Jacqueline Garrison Shotwell

Denham Springs, Louisiana

Jacqueline Garrison Shotwell, 78, passed away November 2, 2014, in Denham Springs, Louisiana surrounded by her loving family. Jackie was a native of Sulphur and a member of Southside Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Sulphur. After retiring from CalCam Hospital as a nurse, she moved to Denham Springs to be closer to her family.

Jackie had a strong faith and belief in the Lord. She loved reading, listening to country music, traveling with her family, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Jackie was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her children, Roxie and Paul Thomas of Colorado Springs CO, Judith Melancon of Denham Springs, Robert Duke and Christine Brannon of Houston, and Dianna and Carrol LeBlanc of Prairieville; her grandchildren Thomas and Dawn Johnson, Suzette Johnson, Amy Vincent, Amber and Brock Delatte, Michael and Nicole Vincent, Wendy and Kurt Ovella, Rebecca and Mike Wilson, and Mary Elizabeth Brannon;  and her  great-grandchildren Kaleb Delatte, Kollin Delatte, Aden Vincent, Layton Vincent, Laura Vincent, Elijah Wilson, Kate Ovella and Lucas Ovella.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Shotwell; her parents, Thomas and Veulah Garrison; her brother, Robert Bobby Garrison; and her daughter, Suzette Brannon.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, in Hixson Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana. Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the funeral home. Visitation will resume on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Johnson, Brock Delatte, David Hale, Kaleb Delatte, Aden Vincent, Michael Vincent, Carrol LeBlanc and Dale Knepper honorary Pallbearer is Kollin Delatte.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge.
