Jacob Allen Strickland, a native of Baton Rouge passed away at his home in Glen Rose, Texas on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the age of 46.
Jacob attended Glen Rose United Methodist Church and really enjoyed Pastor Owen’s messages. Jacob loved watching movies, grilling and live music. He had a really big heart and loved his family and dogs, especially his current pup Oscar. Jacob’s big beautiful smile will forever be remembered.
Jacob was a graduate of the Texas A&M University System, Engineering Extension Service where he received certifications in various types of welding. He was a skilled welder and enjoyed a successful welding career for over 20 years. More recently, Jacob graduated from McLennan Community College and received certification as a professional truck driver.
Jacob is survived by his mother Elizabeth Leonard Sauls and step-father Keith D. Sauls, brother Jackson Strickland and his fiancé Jasmyne Walker, sister Jessica Strickland and her fiancé Dan Lapointe, nieces Aurora and Vida, ex-wife Tara Jenne, and numerous aunts, uncles, step-sisters, step-brothers, cousins and friends.
Jacob was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Dee Strickland; his grandparents James and Marian Leonard, and Charles and Virgie Strickland.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Salvation Army ARC would be appreciated in memory of Jacob Strickland. Jacob was a proud graduate of their 180 days rehabilitation program which had a very positive impact on his life. Please make check payable to Salvation Army ARC.
