Jack Carona

Jack Julius Carona, age 82, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at The Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge, LA. Jack was born in Independence, LA on May 16, 1935.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan Thomas Carona; one son, Thomas Carona and wife Michelle; one daughter, Mary Lynn Smith and husband Bud; five grandchildren, Laura Catherine and Sarah Grace Smith, Anna, Jack and Emma Carona; and one sister, Mary Gennaro of Houston, Texas.

Jack was able to enjoy 11 years of his retirement with his family and friends thanks to a gift of life, a kidney transplant from the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was a great husband, father and grandfather with a big heart.

Visitation will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 9:00am until Mass at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA.
