J. Russell Jr.

J.B. Russell, Jr., age 90, passed away on July 19, 2015.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was also a member of the Freemasons. J.B. retired after many years of service to Kleinpeter Dairy. He also enjoyed playing bingo and feeding birds.

J. B. is survived by his daughter, Janice Russell Gautreau; sons, J.B. (Jay) Russell III and wife Sherri Spears Russell, and Jimmy Russell; daughter-in-law, Marie Strode Russell; grandchildren, Glynn Russell and wife Alissa, Julie Russell Simpson and husband Andy, Shannon Russell, Aimee Russell Murray and husband Todd, Jason Bradford Russell and wife Aaron Elizabeth Russell; Great-grandchildren, Ella Murray, James Russell, Levi Russell, Ashley Poole, and Addison Russell; sisters, Bess Greer and husband J.O. "Duck," Hazel Hall and husband Gerald; and sister-in-law, Nancy Russell.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Lambert Russell and his second wife, Betty Barrett Russell; parents, J.B. Russell Sr. and Mattie Ella Buhler Russell; son, Donald Alvin Russell; son-in-law, John Gautreau; brother, Tommy Russell; and sister Christine Herring.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 AM.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fellowship Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
