Ivy Starkey

December 5, 1920 — April 20, 2014

Ivy T. Starkey, 93, of Baton Rouge, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Baton Rouge General Hospital. A private service and entombment were held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.

Mrs. Starkey was born December 5, 1920, in Sulphur, LA, a daughter of Lucian and Theresa Trosclair, who preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter Quita S. Cutrer of Baton Rouge her granddaughter, Chari McCardle of Baton Rouge her grandson Brent McCardle of Cary, NC two stepgranddaughters, Julie Gay and Ronda Long a stepgrandson, Roger Cutrer two great granddaughters, Cassidy and Skyler McCardle. Also surviving is her sister Jeannie Mitchell of DeRidder, LA her niece Micky Kelley.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Alton B. Starkey daughter Marsha six siblings her dogs, Beaux and LuLu. She worked alongside her husband as an office manager for their Chiropractic practice and during retirement she volunteered for the seniors at Parkview Baptist Church. Ivy was at home, gardening, with her trusted friend Jerome Wooten, baking with her loyal friend Helen Domengesux, and picking out her spring pot plants with her longtime friend Mary Ann Burk a few days before her death.
