Irene (George) Fuller, age 95 of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, closed her eyes for the last time here on earth and passed from death to eternal life on November 16, 2021. She has rejoined her devoted husband of 66 years, Rev. Lloyd D. Fuller, whom she cared for until his passing in 2014.
Irene was born to Lois Elizabeth (Evans) and Everett Andrew George on August 16, 1926, in Sour Lake, Texas. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Cheryl Weatherly; and by a son, Van Evan Fuller, and his wife Janet. She was loved by grandchildren Laura Holliday and husband Todd; David Weatherly and wife Chantel; and Angela Kautz and husband Joshua. She was also loved by her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Josiah and Emma Holliday, and Jeremiah Kautz; and niece Karla Neal. She is reunited with her mother, Lois Evans, and her sister, Mary Lou Neal.
Irene Fuller was treasured by all who knew her—a truly gentle soul who lived meekly and quietly, having no wish for acclaim or attention. The family frequently called her "an angel on earth." She loved God and followed Him faithfully her whole life. And for nearly a century, she followed a single rule: Be kind, and do good…always.
The celebration of Irene Fuller’s life will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816. Public viewing will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Burial at Resthaven will follow the service.
