Ida Randall

Ida Mimi B. Randall went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 after 98 amazing years. She was married to Carl D. Randall, Sr. on August 30, 1941 and they spent 59 happy years together. They had three children, Carl D. Randall, Jr., Marilyn Randall and Elizabeth Valentine. Mimi was one of eleven children born to Bolden and Mary Bankston. She is preceded in death by one brother, John Lem Bankston and seven sisters, Willie Ellzey, Bertha Rogers, Gertrude Wittie, Laurecia Cutrer, Lillie Booth, Margaret Stafford and Norma Miller. Her favorite activity was cooking for her family and any friends who entered her door. There was always a cake, pie and coffee awaiting anyone who arrived. Sunday lunch was often a crowded affair, with three children, nine grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, and two greatgreat grandchildren. Mimi taught elementary school beginning in Baptist, LA, then in Baton Rouge at Hollywood Elementary and Bellingrath Elementary in Central. She was a member of the Hammond Eastern Star. Denham Springs, on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 9:30 am until funeral service at 11:00 am, conducted by Reverend Earnest Graham. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Caleb Shaw, Joseph Sherwin, Matt Root, Travis Badon, Steve Seruntine and Clay Randall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Micah Shaw, Brandon Anders and Greg Valentine. Special thanks to Hospice in His Care for their personal attentiveness, conversation and medical supervision for the past two years. You made Mimi comfortable through the last day. And even greater thanks to Louise Muse and Albertha Selders, who saw to mothers daily needs. We could not have cared for her so well without you.
