Huey Raymond Monnerjahn, age 79, a native of New Orleans and resident of Mandeville, passed away on November 7, 2015.
He was born on December 19, 1935, to the late Henry and Christine Eiswirth Monnerjahn. Huey graduated from Fortier High School in New Orleans. He retired from IBM Corp and enjoyed his retirement traveling the world on over 60 cruises as a distinguished ball room dance host. Huey was an avid bridge player. He also enjoyed cooking, bicycling, and Saints Football.
Huey is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Greer and husband Fred; daughter, Eugena Shapiro and husband David; daughter, Jaune' Monnerjahn; step-daughter, Cheryl Cantin; step-son, Angie Cantin and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Jarrod Bourgeois, (triplets) Emily, Kaitlyn, and Grant Shapiro, Christian Eichhorn, and Marlene Eichhorn; and brother, Wallace Monnerjahn and wife Joan.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry John Monnerjahn and grandson Matthew Shapiro.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until memorial services at 11:00 AM.
Inurnment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
