Hines Amile Turcotte, Jr., 69, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana left his earthly home on Friday, June 9, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones.
Those to continue to cherish the memories of this wonderful man include the love of his life, his wife, Susan Abadie Turcotte; children, Chad, Toby (Brenda) and Jenny (Dan); brothers, Jerry (Judy) and Edward (Dianne); grandchildren, Dusti, Caroline, Sam, Carter and Peyton; and great-grandchild, Karsen.
Hines was preceded in death by his father, Hines A. Turcotte Sr. and mother, Josephine LeSage Turcotte.
He graduated from LSU with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1970. As a young engineer, he began his career at Texaco in Convent, La. where he worked for 10 years. He continued his distinguished career with Exxon Chemical in Baton Rouge, La. which included major projects overseas. In 2007, he retired from Exxon with 27 years of service. Project work was in his blood; therefore, he continued working projects as a consultant, most recently with CDI Corporation.
Hines was generous, kind, fun-loving, positive, fearless, sincere, genuine, loyal, and a super hero to his grandchildren. Although a quiet man in demeanor, he was always ready to help anyone in need. He had a passion for traveling the world, enjoying a good bottle of wine, and spoiling the second love of his life, his shih tzu Bailee. He was an all-around handy-man and had an obsession for the latest technologies that drove his wife crazy every time he reprogrammed something in the house.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, La. on Wednesday, June 14th at 10 a.m. until services begin at Noon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice in his honor.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the doctors and ICU nurses and support staff of the Baton Rouge General Medical Center Bluebonnet.
