A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died Sunday night, March 15, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 97, a native of Cleveland, grew up in Bogalusa and spent the last 60 years of her life in Baton Rouge. Memorial service at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, March 18, at 1 p.m. Inurnment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by a sister, Elsie LeBlanc, Lafayette; two daughters, Kathleen Chambers and husband Gene, and Hilda Donaldson and husband Tommy; seven grandchildren, Gary McBride, Edward Chambers, Rob Chambers, Christine Chambers, Jeanie Wiggins, Adam deLatour and Michelle Odom; five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henson; parents, Robert and Anna Simm; daughter, Jeannine Mansell; grandson, Brent McBride; three brothers and three sisters. Our gratitude to Landmark of Baton Rouge for years of caring, and special thanks to the fifth floor nurses and doctors of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center who helped to make her transition as painless as possible.
