Hilda Ruth Dixon,

A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, friend and faithful servant of the Lord passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at age 90. Hilda retired from Baton Rouge Technical College and Dow Chemical after a long career as a secretary.
She was a native of Hope Villa and resident of Baton Rouge. A charter member of Parkview Baptist Church and current member of Jefferson Baptist, she served her Lord and loved others as a children's Sunday School teacher and member of the choir, Women's Missionary Union, Young at Heart, Dow Annuitants Club, and Baton Rouge Food Bank Volunteers.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home 11817 Jefferson Highway on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and will resume there on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 10:00 AM until religious services at 11:00 AM conducted by Dr. T.C. French.

Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. She is survived by sisters Dorothy D. Guins and Loretta D. Brignac, and brother Vernon L. Dixon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. Dixon and Bonnie Kizer Dixon, and siblings: Eva D. Sholar, Estelle Dixon, Elva D. Wheat, John Dixon, Malcolm Dixon, Aubrey Dixon and Rev. Miner Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or Gideon's International.
