Herbert Smith

January 29, 1955 — December 26, 2015

Herbert William Smith, age 60, a resident of St. Gabriel, passed away on December 26, 2015.

He fought the long fight with cancer and the battle is finally over. He is now happily hunting in Heaven.

He was a successful insurance agent, in business with his sisters. Herbie was an avid hunter, which was his passion since the age of seven. His father would never go on a hunt without him. From Mexico to Texas, to Kansas, Montana, Argentina, Nebraska, and South Dakota, his bullets still grace many trees where he hunted, especially Mexico. To honor him, if you wish, please wear your camouflage.

Herbert is survived by his wife, Kimberly Smith; his son, Raymond Smith; his step-sons, Nick and Ben Chambers; his parents, Raymond and Connie Smith; his sisters, Johanna Smith, Belinda Smith-Schwartzberg, and Thelma Smith-Reier; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
