Herbert H. Duncan, Jr., 81, of Zachary, LA., passed away on March 25, 2018. He was born in Many, LA in 1936. He earned a BA degree and in 1961 a law degree, both from Tulane University. He practiced law in Morgan City, LA and was a lobbyist for Southern Pacific Railroad. He then finished his career after 13 years as a Classification Officer Specialist at Louisiana State Penitentiary.
Herb is survived by his wife, Jean Goudeau Duncan, of 58 years, who he adored. They were married in Mansfield, LA on June 7, 1959. He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Bill Duncan and wife, Lorie, Chuck Duncan and wife, Marie, and Scott Duncan and wife, Melissa; his grandchildren, Brittany Duncan, Chase Duncan and Meagan Duncan; sister, Mickey Duncan Newman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert H. Duncan, Sr; mother, Laura Celia Duncan; and brother, Edwin Buie Duncan.
Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816 beginning with visitation Wednesday, March 28, from 5:30-8:30pm; continuing on Thursday, March 29, from 9:00-11:00am with burial service to follow. A reception will take place immediately following at the home of Chuck and Marie Duncan.
