Helen Simpson

Helen Marie Simpson, 87, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away Saturday evening March 10th, 2018. She was born July 17, 1930 in Ruston, Louisiana to the late Pearl Causey Jowers and Frank Shelby Jowers. Helen was preceded in death by her two younger sisters Barbara Jowers Howell and Bonnie Jowers Brunner. She graduated from Arcadia, Louisiana High School and attended Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana.

Helen was married to Alvin William Simpson for 64 years before his death in 2013 and was a wonderful wife to her husband and a very special mother to her two children, Dianne and David. She made every holiday a special event for her family. Helen is survived by Cynthia Dianne Taylor and husband Charles of College Station, Texas and David Gregg Simpson and wife Katie of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; six grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. and services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 9955 Old Hammond Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Burial will be in a family plot at the Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston, Louisiana. Pallbearers will be grandsons Josh Simpson, Todd Simpson, Luke Simpson, William Simpson of Baton Rouge, Eric Owens of Bryan, Texas and son-in-law Charles Taylor of College Station, Texas.
