A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Sherwood Manor, of congestive heart failure. She was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Brookhaven, Miss. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Sept. 10, from 9 a.m. until chapel service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. She is survived by a sister, Margaret Rome a brotherinlaw, Lamon Thames nieces and spouses, Donna and Harold Booth, Dianne and Les Watson and Kim and Larry Seguin nephews and spouses, Michael and Ann Thames and Jerry and Jill Thames, and Chris Rome and numerous greatnieces and greatnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Grace Russell a sister, Ida Faye Thames and brotherinlaw, Roger Rome. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and the Poetry Society.
