Helen Michael

Helen Mae Michael, 86, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 at her residence. Native of Garyville, Louisiana and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and greatgreatgrandmother. She found joy in cooking and travel. Helen held her family and friends close to her heart and valued the memories she had made with them. She was a dedicated member of St. George Church. Helen is survived by her daughters, Mary M. Jeansonne, Josslyn M. Prather, Rose and husband Kevin Jones, Tanya DiBenedetto, and Linda Freeman son, Jameal Michael, Jr., and wife Kay brother, Floyd Breaud 12 grandchildren 23 greatgrandchildren and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jameal C. Michael, Sr. parents, Gustave and Lillian Breaud son, Jameal Gerald Michael grandsons, Justin C. DiBenedetto and Russel J. Prather granddaughter, Lynn M. Schouest and brothers, Gustave and Harold Breaud. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 5 pm until 8 pm and will continue on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 12 pm until religious service at 2 pm conducted by Monseigneur Robert Bergreen. Burial to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Jay C. Michael, Justin Ortego, Trey McCraine, Shawn Prather, Lance DiBenedetto, Ryan DiBenedetto, and Cody Cedotal. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin DiBenedetto, Leonard Schouest, Gawain Schouest, and Sean Schouest. A special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and nurses Kristine and Don.
