Heather Newport

Heather Elizabeth Newport, native and resident of Baton Rouge, La, passed away on Wednesday, May 02, 2012 at the age of 32. Graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School, Louisiana Tech, and LSU Paralegal school, she is survived by her loving parents, George and Melanie Barbier Newport sister, Meghan Kathleen Newport grandparents, Rene G. and Beverly Barbier numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends and beloved dog, Rudy. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Sally Newport and aunt, Sally Fourcade. Heather loved life and having fun with family and friends. She enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, and taking road trips with her Delta Gamma Sorority sisters. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 9am until religious services at 11 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. The family would like to thank the nurses and aids on the fourth floor Neuro at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Dr. Joseph Acosta, Dr. Benjamin Kidder, Dr. Stanley Appel of Houston, TX, Jefferson Manor Nursing Home, and St. Joseph Hospice, especially Penny and Katrina.
