A retired credit central manager with Sears Roebuck and a resident of Baton Rouge for 48 years, he died Sunday, May 9, 2010. He was 88 and a native of Meridian, Miss. He was a captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served as a navigator during World War II. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Tuesday, May 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting at Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ken Carroll and the Rev. Fred Wideman. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Ollie Jean Morgan Luke two daughters, Sally Luke Streete and Julie Luke Brown two sisters, Martharene Luke Smith and husband Jim Smith, and Chris Luke Ellis and husband Jim Ellis four grandchildren, Brandon Luke Brown, Sally Brown Martinez and husband Gregory Martinez, Julie Anne Streete Estep and husband Chad Estep, and Jeana Morgan Streete nephews, Allen Chandler, Mike Ellis and Scott Ellis nieces, Angela Brooks and Christy Alison and 10 greatnephews and greatnieces. Preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Lee Luke Sr., Ada Julia Luke and Margie Rawson Luke.
