A native of Alexandria and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he went to his heavenly reward during the early hours of Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his son, James Edward Jim Moreau daughter, Claire Marie Moreau son, Thomas George Tom Moreau son and daughterinlaw, Kenneth Gerard Ken Moreau and Hope Philips two grandchildren, Austin Joseph Moreau and Alicia Claire Moreau several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward Arcadius Tee Chapeau Moreau and Alice Athalie Dufour, who were of Avoyelles Parish brothers, Victor Arnie, Marcelain Lansing Lance, Delsamoore Lewis Moore, George Leonard Bib, Harry Tee Harry, Willard and Roy Anthony and sister, Zephyr Inez. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Elementary Catholic School, Catholic High School and Baton Rouge Business College. He earned his bachelors degree in accounting from LSU, going to classes part time during a 12year period while working full time at LSU. While still in high school, he worked as a caddy, then in the golf shop at City Park until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Just prior to becoming 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Then after his discharge from active duty, he served for five years in the U.S. Navy Reserve during the Korean War. He had two great work careers, one as director of accounting services at LSU for more than 27 years and as comptroller at Union National Life Insurance Co. for nearly 30 years where he earned the designation of Fellow of the Life Management Institute. He served on a number of nonprofit boards, including the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Josephs Childrens Home, Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille, Family Services of Greater Baton Rouge and Grief Recovery Center of Baton Rouge. His memberships included Broadmoor United Methodist Church, St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Sons of the American Revolution, Sherwood Forest Country Club, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Baton Rouge Historical and Genealogical Society. He was an avid genealogist and published several books relating to his ancestors and people with Avoyelles Connections. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Jan. 7, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a memorial service at 7:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Tom Cosby.
