Harriet Suppan

March 31, 1921 — January 31, 2012

Harriet L. Suppan in her religious life was known as Sister Rose de Lima, SSND. She started her life as an educator at a high school in Breeze, IL before moving to New Orleans where she taught music at Our Lady of Good Counsel. She then moved to Baton Rouge where she taught at Holy Ghost before finishing her service at St. Anthony Catholic School. She taught piano and music privately for years. She passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at 12:20am at Hospice of Baton Rouge. Visiting on Monday, February 6, 2012 at St. Joseph Cathedral, Main and 4th Street, Baton Rouge, LA from 1pm until Mass of the Resurrection at 2pm, conducted by Rev. Paul D. Counce. Inurnment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. She is survived by a sister of the convent, Jean Hayes, known in her religious life as Sister Mary Donard, SSND and several nieces and nephews. The family thanks everyone for their kindness and support. Please pray for the repose of her soul.
