Harold Harper

Harold Wayne Harper passed away in the comfort of his own home at the age of 100 on Sunday, November 30, 2014. He was born on September 14, 1914 in Gainesville, GA, and is survived by his daughter, Martha Wayne Bickham and husband Herbert son, Harold William Harper and wife Mary daughters, Barbara Fant and Georgia Harper seven grandchildren, and seven greatgrandchildren. Harold is preceded in death by his wife Connie Reeves son, Robert Warren Harper, parents, Hampton and Martha Harper five sisters, and four brothers. He was a retired selfemployed building contractor, a member of Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church, a devoted christian and family man, who enjoyed playing the guitar, piano and harmonica.
He was known for his great wit, and enjoyed watching the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.

Pallbearers are Herbert Bickham, Dwain Bickham, Dylan Gill, Adam Harper, Larry Harper and Jacob Paternostro. Wayne Cantrell will serve as Honorary Pallbearer. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers of Angels Are We, Dr. Hershel Dean, and St. Joseph Hospice for all of their generous care and support.

Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Family and friends may sign the online memorial, leave a personal note to the family at www.resthavenbatonrouge.com.
