Hannah Szkatulski

Funeral service for Mrs. Ann Szkatulski, 96, of Baton Rouge, will be at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until service. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Born Sept. 26, 1911, she passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Szkatulski; her parents and three sisters. Ann Szkatulski is survived by a son, Richard Szkatulski and wife Lou, of Lafayette; daughters, Suzanne Aucoin, of Baton Rouge, and Jackie Thompson and husband Wade, of West Monroe; grandchildren, Lacey Szkatulski, Michelle Szkatulski, Michael Vallee, Kathy George, Ernest Thompson, Charmaine McGuffee and Alicia Minter; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and special nephew, Don Russell and wife Lennie, of West Monroe. Our mother was a proud, independent woman. Her love for her family knew no bounds as she held them close through the years. She was greatly admired for her unsurpassed culinary skills. Most days, she could be found working in her yard and flowers for her love of gardening was evident. Mamma Ann's special touch in our lives leaves us with wonderful memories. Pallbearers will be her grandsons-in-law and great-grandsons.
