Hal J. Drez

Hal Joseph Drez, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the age of 84.

Hal was a graduate of Jesuit High School and Tulane University graduating with a degree in electrical engineering.  He also served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy serving aboard the USS Saratoga and the USS Furse.  He was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather.  He had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Melanie Talley Drez; children, Karen Drez, Michael Drez (Deborah), and Roy Drez (Heidi); grandchildren, Emily Drez and Nicholas Drez; and brother, Ronald Drez (Judith).  He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Roger Drez and Aline Raynaud Drez.

Visitation will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
