After a brief illness, H. Mike Stokes took his final breaths surrounded by his dearest family on Friday, March 12, 2021. Mike was born on July 15, 1949 in Pensacola, FL where he lived until the age of 13. He moved to Baton Rouge where he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1967. Mike attended LSU and had many successful businesses, including Miss Bojangles and Garbo’s lingerie. Mike most recently dedicated his time to creation and promotion of the cooking show Cajun Cooking TV. Mike’s faith grew as he lived his life, and at the time of his death he was a truly happy Christian and member of Bethany Church.
Mike is survived by his wife of 33 years, Beryl Caillouet Stokes; as well as three daughters, Alletia Sellers and husband Max, Ashley Whitcomb and husband Doug, and Alexandra Stokes; six grandchildren, Hayes, Greyson, Addison, Madden Sellers, and Declan and Beckett Whitcomb; god-daughter Hailey Wade; siblings Michele Boland and Clay Stokes.
