Greg Payne

Gregory Keith Payne, a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, born March 28, 1953 went to his heavenly home on Monday, June 19, 2017.
Greg attended Baton Rouge High and LSU. He was an avid music lover and longtime manager of Leisure Landing Record Store. Greg was also an avid LSU basketball and NBA fan. He suffered a spinal cord injury in 2011 which changed his life in an instant.

Greg is survived by a number of cousins, including Jean Roberts and husband Murphy, Gary Roberts Russell Roberts and wife Debra, Pam Love and husband Louis, Debra Royals and husband Tommy, Kay Couch, Wayne Herrington and wife Jane; as well as many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Othel L. Payne and Gertie Lola Jenkins Payne.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 4:00 PM until Memorial Services, officiated by Rev. Chris Andrews, at 6:00 PM.

The family would like to thank all those who cared for him and made him as comfortable and happy as possible, including Dr. Patricia Whatley, doctors and nurses and staff at Baton Rouge General, Lora Gray and her staff at Whealdon Estates.
