Goodarz Shaidaee

Goodarz (Goody) Shaidaee, 87, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully in his home on March 12, 2021. He graduated from Tehran University with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1957, received his masters in 1958. He then attended LSU and received a Master Degree in Forestry Engineering in 1962, then moved to Colorado Springs and attended the University of Colorado with a Masters Degree in Agriculture in 1968.

Goody enjoyed being outdoors planting, swimming, hiking in the mountains, fencing, traveling, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends. He also published and translated several books and spent a lot of time translating movies and TV shows.

He is survived by his wife Sherry Shaidaee whom he was married to for 45 years. Children; Gilda Shatford, husband Sid, Nasser D. (Marc) Shaidaee, wife Desiree, Mildred Roya Goutreaux, Anthony Shaidaee, wife Angela, Sherwin Shaidaee, wife Candace, and Ashkan Shaidaee, wife Casey; grandchildren, Brandin Goutreaux, Cameron Goutreaux, Travis Goutreaux, Claire Shatford, Randi Shaidaee, Anthony Afshin Shaidaee, Jamie Shaidaee, Rainey Shaidaee, Leyla Shaidaee, Kaden Shaidaee, Kavon Shaidaee, Karmin Shaidaee, Mason Shaidaee, Kingston Shaidaee; great grandchildren, Amanda Goutreaux, Hunter Goutreaux, and Hudson Goutreaux. Two sisters, Shahnaz Kargar, Behnaz Tarifi, and numerous nieces and nephews.
