A retired pipeline construction worker and a U.S. Air Force veteran, he died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at his home. He was 71, a resident and native of Baton Rouge. He loved animals, the outdoors and working in his shop at home. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes in the chapel Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tom Ranzino. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Braud Thomas two daughters and sonsinlaw, Denise and Charlie Pellissier and their children, C.J. and Bailey, and Becky and Steve Rozier and their children, Chris and Katy two sisters, Bernie Lee Young and Leonel Solario and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Red and Bessie Thomas brother, Nataniel Jackson and sister, Carmen Kundler. He was a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church.
