Glenda "Faye" Griffin Worsham

Glenda “Faye” Griffin Worsham of Gonzales, LA, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the age of 83. Glenda was born on Wednesday, September 25, 1940, in Montrose Mississippi.

Glenda had a passion for music, particularly the iconic sounds of Elvis Presley, earning her the title of the "Queen of Rock and Roll" among her loved ones. She could often be found lost in the pages of a captivating book, immersing herself in stories that transported her to another world.

Glenda is preceded in death by her ex-husband of 33 years James Worsham Sr.; her parents George Thomas Griffin Sr. and Massie Lee Blackwell Griffin, her sister, Jimmie Lee Fulmer; her brothers William (WD) Griffin, and George Griffin Jr.; and her grandson James “Matt” Wingate.

Glenda is survived by her daughters Aleta Ward, Lori Schouest (Nacy), and Sheila Schouest; her sons James “Tom” Worsham Jr. (Tracy), and Johnny Worsham (Anita); her grandchildren Chad Schouest (Terri), Miriah Schouest, Dustin Schouest (Shelby), Blaine Worsham, and Ian Worsham; her great-grandchildren Victorie Wingate, Gage Schouest, Taylor Schouest, Hallie Wingate, Keelie Schouest, Aurora Schouest, Olivia Schouest, Dagan Schouest, Logan Schouest, Felicity Schouest, Ryker Schouest, Amalie Schouest, and Gideon Schouest; her Honorary great-grandson Zae Williams, and her brother Dwight Griffin (Glenda).

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Friday October 27, 2023 from 1:30pm until services at 2:30pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Chad Schouest, Miriah Schouest, Dustin Schouest, Victorie Wingate, Blaine Worsham and Ian Worsham.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask for donations to be made to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The family would like to give special thanks to Heart of Hospice- and their nurses, CNA’s, and Chaplain Timothy Webb for all of their care and support.
