Gladys Marie Perault Pizzalato, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday morning, January 30, 2015.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved. She was very proud of her 21 years as a door greeter at Walmart and all the close friends she made throughout the years until she had to retire in September of 2014. Gladys was born in Baton Rouge and married her sweetheart, Vincent Pizzalato, and was married until his death in 1970.
She is survived by her son, Leonard and wife, Dianne Pizzalato; her daughter, Patricia Hornsby; daughter-in-law, Diane Pizzalato; 7 grandchildren, Eric and wife Jenny Pizzalato, Darin Pizzalato, Staci and husband Mike Wiles, Nickolas and wife Leah Pizzalato, Angela and husband Duane Rodriguez, Andrew Pizzalato, and Tara and husband Jeffrey Snow; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary and husband Auburn Phillips; sister-in-law, Larkeal Perault; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Pizzalato; son, Glenn Pizzalato; and parents, Joseph and Racheal Perault.
Family requests that visiting hours be observed on Monday, February 2, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd, from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Auburn Phillips and Jeffrey Snow.
