Gilberte Cormier

July 21, 1926 — February 1, 2014

Gilberte Fleury Cormier, born in Paris, France, the daughter of Andr and Hlne Fleury, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 31, 2014. Mrs. Cormier married Julian Cormier in 1946 and she came to Louisiana as a war bride. Mrs. Cormier enjoyed most spending time with her family, working in her yard, cooking French dishes, and listening to music. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Julian, and her furry companion Kaina. She is survived by her two daughters, Katherine Cormier Legleu Ric of Baton Rouge, and Marlene Cormier Miller of Watson 4 granddaughters, Julie Legleu Reasoner Jamey of Dallas Texas, Christina Legleu of LaCombe, Louisiana, Tani Legleu of Baton Rouge, and Mona Legleu of Baton Rouge two grandsons, Walter J Masling Miranda of Baton Rouge, and Christopher Miller Cassie of Lafayette three greatgrandchildren with a fourth on the way and her sister, Monique Fleury Nagem Buzzy of Lake Charles, Louisiana. A special thanks to her two care givers, Eve Hart and Janet Carney, for their love, devotion, and care during our mothers illness also to Penny from hospice and Dr. Ferrara and his staff. According to Mrs. Cormiers wishes there will be no service her ashes will be interred at Port Hudson with her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Josephs Hospice of Baton Rouge.
