A retired employee of BASF Wyandotte Corp., he died at 2:11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 89, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a native of North Manchester, Ind. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, May 27, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, May 28, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Jim Nichols. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by a daughter and soninlaw, Carol and Louis Dupuy two sons and daughtersinlaw, Keith and Lori Leffel, and Jim and Tracy Leffel a brother, Elvin Leffel eight grandchildren, Kelly Webber and husband Lance, Brian Edwards, Lance Leffel and wife Katie, Jennifer Adams and husband Maj. Brian, U.S. Air Force, Kristen Roberts and husband Curtis, Kristy Pierrotti, Jonathan Edwards and Brooklyn Leffel and 13 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty McDowell Leffel a son, Gerald Wayne Leffel two sisters, Lucille Wiccoff and Virginia Eaves and two brothers, Hubert and Gordon Leffel.
