Gerard Bosma

A native of the province of Friesland in the Netherlands, where he was born in 1918. He moved to Mexico in the early sixties and lived there until his retirement, after which he spent the last thirty years both traveling and living in the Netherlands, Mexico and the United States. Many of these years he spent in one of his favorite places, Santa Barbara, CA. Recently, after the Jesusita Fires destroyed his home, he moved in with one of his sons Roelef and daughterinlaw Stella in Baton Rouge, LA, where he lived until April 20, 2010. He is survived by his two sons, Roelef and Anton Bosma, their wives, Stella Beard and Lavita Bosma, resp. and his two grandchildren, Natasha Bosma and Anton Bosma, II. Roelof and Stella reside in Baton Rouge, LA., whereas Anton and Lavita reside in Iowa City, IA. Natasha lives with her husband, Will, in Chicago, IL and Anton A.J. lives in Lake Tahoe, CA. Gerard Bosma was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Antonia Bosma Rijke his brother Hobbe Akkerman and his parents.
