Geraldine Apple passed away peacefully at Sunrise Assisted Living on March 22, 2017. She passed surrounded by love and will be much missed by her family and her many friends.
Gerry was born in Calumet, Alabama in 1925 and she lived in New Orleans, LA where she worked for South Central Bell for 41 years. After retirement she moved to Nashville, TN and then settled in Baton Rouge.
She was a fixture at Women's Health and Fitness, attending daily and holding court with her workout buddies in the lobby. Her quick wit and kind heart made her a favorite with patrons and employees alike.
Gerry was 91 and leaves behind two daughters, Jackie Palka (Dan) and Pam Sharp; two granddaughters, Danielle Morris (Matt) and Michelle Guice (Kevin); a grandson, Matthew Sharp; and three great grandsons, Max Morris, Jack Guice and George Guice.
She is preceded in death by husbands, Jack Means and Charles Apple; and sister, Freda Shaffer.
A celebration of her life will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway Baton Rouge, LA on March 27th between the hours of 4 and 7pm. Join us as we share memories of a life well lived. Please bring your best "Gerry" stories as we raise a glass in her honor.
