Gerald J. Venable

Gerald James Venable, a native of Long Beach, CA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the age of 67.

He retired from the United States Postal Service, where he worked as a clerk.  He enjoyed learning about his ancestry and was traveling throughout South Louisiana on his free time.

He is survived by his loving husband, John Britton; children, Gabriel “Gabe” Venable and his wife Ashley and Hannah Venable; mother, Ursuline Venable; brother, Bruce Venable and his wife Rae.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gervais Venable.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m.
