Gerald "Jerry" Wallace Madere

Gerald “Jerry” Madere passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born on June 23, 1952, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Charles and Yvonne Madere. He graduated from Lee High School and then went on to start a successful carpentry business.

Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Louisiana swamps. He loved to support LSU baseball and football, as well as the New Orleans Saints. Most of all, he loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Yvonne Madere; sister, Gayle Madere; and brother, Wayne Madere.

Jerry is survived by his son, Parker Madere (April Melancon); significant other, Cindy Evans; sister, Jean Buckner (Richard); brother, Charles (Janet); grandchildren, Olivia, Kelly Jr., and Charlie Madere; and other family members, Keith and Carmen Madere, Michael and Lynn Madere, and Wes, Shayne, Brent and Davey Buckner. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, in Baton Rouge, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A Visitation will be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. 

The Family would like to give a Special Thanks to Brian Brousseau for a lifetime of friendship and memories. Jerry considered Brian to be his very best friend his entire life.

Along with Keith Cambre and Steve Dickey, who Jerry spent a lifetime hunting within the Louisiana Swamps.
