Bursavich, George “Bart”

Bart, a Loving brother and friend, passed away at his residence on September 25, 2018, at the age of 69. Bart was born in 1948 and was one of seven siblings who grew up in Baker, Louisiana.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home on Old Jefferson Highway from 6pm-9pm Monday, October 1st, with a mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, October 2nd, at noon at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

He is survived by one child, Michael, and five siblings: Greg Bursavich (wife Marsha), Kathy Miyagi (husband Aki), Mike Bursavich (wife Lori), Joey Bursavich (wife Wanda), Jude Bursavich (wife Stacey), and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joan and George Bursavich, a brother Jon Brink and two nephews: Michael (Mikey) Bursavich and Joshua Miyagi.

Bart had his own business and had retired a year ago. He was enjoying the simpler things in life. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, exercising, and working on cars. He could take a car apart and put it back together with ease.

He excelled in car repair and obtained his initial knowledge from his friend, Walter Layfield, who took him under his wing as he was growing up. Walter became a life-long friend.

Family gatherings, with love and laughter, and spending time with friends were among his favorite things. His love for family, friends and faith in God were obvious.

Bart will be missed by numerous relatives and friends, including Ramin, Walter, Paul, Steve and Sonya. He was a great friend to many and was always there to lend a hand. We thank God that he was our brother.
