It is well with my soul and "I will dwell in the House of The Lord Forever" (Psalm 23:6). George William Van De Walker, 61, of Geismar, Louisiana, born in Norfolk, Virginia, to Donald Dean and Carolyn Van De Walker, on July 31, 1954, went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2016, in his own home surrounded by family. George married the love of his life, Nerissa Van De Walker, in February 1999. He was employed by Community Coffee, Port Allen for 28 years as the lead maintenance technician. Family meant the world to him; he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, riding his motorcycle and Nascar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings Caron and Joe and step-daughter Natalie. George is survived by his wife and children, Kimberly Van De Walker, Kristen Stanley and husband Jeremy, Lindsay Cooper and husband Lance, Krista Prestidge and husband Kendall, Amiee Meyer and husband Vincent, David, John-Michael, and Katherine Kuck, 16 grandchildren, siblings Dean, Dale, Chris and wife Maria, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28th from 4pm - 7pm at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Friday, April 29th at 9:30 am - 11:00 am with funeral services to follow by Brother Jim Law of First Baptist Church, Gonzales.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
