George Wayne Doyle, 89, passed away July 26, 2024, in Baton Rouge, LA.

He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1934 to Andrew Doyle and Alexiena Bisso Doyle

He attended Tulane University, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he was hired by the Louisiana Department of Transportation in New Orleans and had joined the United States Army Reserve. After spending nine years with DOTD, he joined Boh Brothers Construction Company and was transferred to Baton Rouge, LA.

Throughout his life, his favorite things he enjoyed doing were boating, swimming in his backyard pool, and taking vacations to the beach with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley Doyle. Father of three, Wayne Doyle and wife JoAnne, Diane Henderson and husband David, Jeffrey Doyle. Also survived by his brother, Kent Doyle. A loving grandfather of six, Adam, Morgan, Garrett, Rachael, Chet, and Danielle; and great-grandfather of nine, Charlotte, Ben, Thomas, Charlie, Hannah, Claire, Cohen, Dayton, and Colin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Doyle and Alexiena Bisso Doyle; his twin brother Alex Doyle; his brother Andrew Doyle; and sister Alfreda Van Vleck.

He was very much loved, and he will be missed.

Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home,11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Saturday, August 3, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM.
