George Banta, Sr.

George A. Banta, Sr. passed away on January 25, 2014, at the age of 76. George was a member and strong supporter of the Electricians Local Union 995. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jo Jody Caroll Cosby Banta daughter, Kim Banta sons, George Happy Banta, Jr. and wife Glenda, and Brian Banta and wife Vicki grandchildren, Jennifer Day, Adam Day, Kayla Banta, Brittney Banta Troxclair and husband Joshua, Kevin Banta, and Matthew Banta greatgrandchildren, Dustin Wunstel, Trevor and Ava Lewis, Jace Day, Adam Day, Jr., Gage LeBlanc, Charlotte Banta, Tenley and Saylor Troxclair sister, Carolyn C. Harvey sistersinlaw, Barbara Brinchman and husband Dean, Joyce Davenport and husband Kenneth, Linda Butcher and husband Dean, Jean Claiborn and husband Jimmie brotherinlaw, Ben Cosby and numerous nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his parents, Burt, Sr. and Edith Banta two brothers, Burt Banta, Jr. and Louis Banta sister, Janelle Klein grandson, Denny Day brothersinlaw, Dan Klein, Sr. and Johnny Harvey and sisterinlaw, Mary Banta. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA. 70816, on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 4pm with services starting at 7pm.
