Geneva Hansen

Our beautiful loving Mother and Granny, Geneva Watson Hansen, born March 14, 1932 in Hammond, La., went to be with her Lord on August 30, 2016 at 11:40pm at the age of 84.

As she passed through the gates of heaven, what Alzheimers took away from her, God gave back. She remembered the faces of her loved ones gone before her, and her legs regained their strength to run to her blessed Savior, without fear of falling.

In her last hours she was surrounded by her whole family, as we listened to her favorite hymnals. She was a great loving mother, Granny and wonderful foster mom to 13 children and seamstress of draperies.

Geneva is survived by her daughter, Judith Gail Buquoi and John; son, John Darrell Bryant and Donna; daughter, Theresa Hansen Gomez and Danny; sister, Lela Mae Centino; brother, Versie Watson and Diane. She had 6 grandsons, and 2 granddaughters, Sharae Bryant Rouse and Rachel Gomez and 14 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Georgie Watson; brothers, J.T., David and Albert Watson; sisters, Mary Carney and Vergie Stephens.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, La. 70816, from 11:00am until Funeral Service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Anthony and Glen Buquoi, Brian and Blake Bosarge, Landon Gomez and Justyn Buquoi. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter and Waylon Buquoi.

A special thanks to Life Source Hospice staff and Flannery Oaks staff. A very special thanks to her loving granddaughter, Sharae, for all the small things that became great things that showed her love for her Granny!
