Gene G. Bueche passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the age of 66. He was born January 1, 1957, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Joseph Jacob Bueche and Edythe Jeannette Sanches Bueche. He was a 1975 graduate of Glen Oaks High School. Gene retired from Turner Industries in 2021, having previously worked for BASF and Exxon as a crane operator. He was a proud lifetime member of IUOE Local 406.
Gene enjoyed racing and hunting. Always up for a good book, he read most written by his favorite authors including Stephen King, Tom Clancy, and Louis L’Amour. As an avid LSU fan, we will forever cherish the memory that he was able to see his Fighting Tigers beat Florida – one last time! Above all, Gene cherished his family. When his children were young, he was the first to volunteer for school field days. As his family grew, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born, Gene was always the center of their lives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and the mother of his oldest children, Debbie Bueche. Gene is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Racelle “Rusty” Bueche; his daughter Chrissy Bueche Stogner and her husband, Trampas; his sons Justin Bueche and Benjamin Rera and his wife, Emily; and his beloved grandchildren Katlyn Bedwell and her husband Coty, Cazzius Stogner, Noah Bueche, Lillyan Stogner, Juliette Rera, Jocelyn Rera and Jillian Rera; and great-grandchildren Ryleigh, Aubree and Cullen Bedwell; as well as his sisters, Sandra Diaz and her husband Oscar, and Cheryl Atkins; his brother Steve Bueche; numerous nieces, nephews and friends – especially his lifelong friends, Steve Finlay, Corky Bolton and Charles Sanches.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
