Gayle Guillory

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Marian Martin "Gayle" Guillory. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Gayle passed away unexpectedly at the Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet on Monday, November 13, 2017.

Gayle was a graduate of St. John High School in Franklin, LA and received her B.A. from University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly SLII). Gayle began her career as a teacher in Baton Rouge, followed by a second career in Real Estate. She was a longtime, active member of the Greater Baton Rouge Board of Realtors. She was Owner/Broker of Sherwood Realty and Gayle Guillory & Associates. Gayle and her husband Brien loved their home on the Tickfaw River, where together they enjoyed boating, sunrises, sunsets, and many happy family gatherings. Gayle loved to entertain and found great enjoyment reading her cookbooks. Gayle was a generous person, with a joyful and loving heart. She loved to spend time with family and friends and will be sorrowfully missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Guillory Sagnibene and husband Frank; son, David Brian Guillory and wife Leah; sister, Joanne Martin Markerson; granddaughter, Emily Claire Sagnibene; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gayle was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Brien Guillory; her parents, Mildred Landry Martin and Medric Joseph Martin; and her sister, Paulette Martin Prados.

Visitation will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Avenue, Baton Rouge from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Monday, November 20, 2017, celebrated by Father Eddie Martin. Interment to follow at St. George Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be David Guillory, Frank Sagnibene III, Charlie Brown, Sean Prados, Chris Markerson and Stephen Dupeire. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Markerson and Joe Stevens.
