Gay Varnado

Passed away at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, October 04, 2009 at her home in Central. She was 67 years old. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Douglas E. Varnado, Sr; four children, Douglas E. Varnado, Jr. of Shreveport, LA, Terri E. Varnado of Clayton, NC, William D. Varnado of Jackson, GA, and Paul C. Varnado of Watson, LA; two grandchildren, Taylor C. and Gabriel P. Varnado, four step-grandchildren, Robert and Joshua Partin, and Philip and Michael Roppolo; preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Penton, Sr. and Edna Mae Pearson Penton; three brothers and one sister. Visitation at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge on Monday, October 5, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, October 6, from Noon-2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. It was her wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA, 70810.
