Gaetana Jennings

Gaetana Teenie B Jennings 90, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday morning, February 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, the late Edward F Jennings. Gaetana is survived by her daughter, Kathleen J Mathews Alfred Jay, two grandchildren, Jason Mathews Sandi and Ryan Mathews Jill. She also has three great grandchildren, Jason Mathews, Jr., Stacy Tidmore and Shelby Tidmore, as well as one great, great grandson, Duke Tidmore. Gaetanas parents were the late Philip and Katherine Benanti of New Orleans. She also has two sisters, Mary Ann Carlini and the late Conchetta Frantz, as well as two brothers, Philip Benanti, Jr. And the late Salvador Benanti. She was a devoted fan of Saints football and loved to watch the Wheel of Fortune game show. The family wishes to convey a special thanks to Shelly, Dawn, Christine, Emma and Lavada as well as the remainder of the staff of St. Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge for their exceptional care, and also Dr. Bunnie J Hill of St. Elizabeth Physicians. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Joseph Hospice, 10615 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70809. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Rd. Chalmette, LA on March 6, 2013, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a Mass of Christian burial immediately following the visitation. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard Garden of Memories at 2:00 PM.
