Freda LaCaze died Monday, January 3, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Born near Richland, MO on August 2, 1920, she moved to Baton Rouge following her marriage to James A. LaCaze in 1946. She was a schoolteacher, a homemaker, and a lifelong volunteer for various organizations. She was an avid reader, a gifted and enthusiastic craftsperson and a friend to all Gods creatures. No one could be more loving or more loved. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Higway, on Wednesday, January 5th from 5pm to 8pm. Rosary will be on Wednesday, January 5th at 7pm. Visiting will resume at Resthaven on Thursday, January 6th at 8am until the service at 10am. Among her survivors are son and daughterinlaw, James A. Jay and Arlette LaCaze of Baton Rouge and three daughters and sonsinlaw, Mary Ellen and Billie R. Cook of Smithfield, VA Pat and Tom Lemke of Pearland, TX and Jeanell and Gayle T. Strickland of Baton Rouge nine grandchildren, Skipp Cook, Steven Cook, Mike Cook, Chris Cook, Laurie Moffatt, David Brossettte, Chris LaCaze, Courtney Folkerts and Casey LaCaze and nine great grandchildren a brotherinlaw, Paul Monda of Waynesville, MO and 5 nieces and nephews. We will miss her dearly. She was preceeded in death by her husband, her parents, O.W. Will Anderson and Ida McMillian Anderson her sister, Willene Monda and a granddaughter, Julie Brossette Payne. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters Court Regina Coeli. The family would like to thank the staff at Landmark of Baton Rouge, Life Source Hospice and Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
