Frank Sadler

Francis Owen “Frank” Sadler passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the age of 89. He was born September 28, 1935, in Lone Pine, Louisiana to Roland Dan Sadler and Minnie Lee Elliott Sadler. A graduate of LaGrange High School in Lake Charles, Frank went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree from McNeese State University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy Reserve. 

After marrying the love of his life, Janice LaFountain Sadler, they moved to Baton Rouge in 1963. Frank and Don Landers opened their first Cracker Barrel convenience store in 1968, in Baton Rouge. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and was the founder of Cracker Barrel Bass Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Margie Faye Ensminger and Beverly Genevieve Goodlowe; and his beloved wife of 65 years, Janice, who passed away just 45 days ago. Frank is survived by his devoted son, Christopher S. Sadler and wife, Sandra; his granddaughters, Melissa Sadler McCasland and husband, Cameron, and Mary Francis Sadler; and his great-grandson, Thomas McCasland; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and caregivers at St. James Place and the Crossing at Clarity Hospice for the compassion and support they provided to Frank and the entire family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
