Francis Leblanc

Francis Patrick Hamilton Pat LeBlanc, age 82, a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living at Siegen, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012, after a prolonged illness. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a former resident of the New Orleans area. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to the late Maureen Achee LeBlanc and devoted father to Melanie LeBlanc Dubea and husband Christopher, David Bruce LeBlanc and wife Susan,and Frederick Landry LeBlanc and wife Misty, as well as the late Patrick Hamilton LeBlanc. He had five beautiful grandchildren: Meghan and Jourdan Dubea, Sean and Cole LeBlanc,and Sebastian LeBlanc as well as many nieces and nephews. Pat is also survived by brothers, Frederick S. LeBlanc, Jr. and Judge Daniel W. LeBlanc and his wife Percival of Baton Rouge, and sister Jane McMahon of Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by parents Judge Frederick S. LeBlanc and Genevieve Bruce LeBlanc, son Patrick Hamilton LeBlanc,and his wife Maureen Achee LeBlanc. Born in Baton Rouge August 14, 1929, Pat left Catholic High School at the age of 13 and entered St. Joseph in Metuchen, New Jersey as a novice of the Brotherhood of the Sacred Heart. At St. Joseph, Pat became Brother Edward where he taught high school in the Northeast for a number of years. He was an Alumnus of Catholic High School, Class of 1945. He finished his studies at LSU with a degree in PetroChemical Engineering. After a tour with the Air Force on Eniwetok in theMarshall Islands, Pat was honorably discharged and returned stateside to Eglin AFB in order to resume family life and began a long professional career with Exxon New Orleans. After moving to Harahan, Louisiana in the early 1960s, Pat and Maureen saw their family grow to four children. Later in life, the couple moved to River Ridge, Louisiana where Pat enjoyed the next phase of his career as an Oil Consultant. A water enthusiast, Pat spent much of his spare time at his camp in Port Sulfur fishing and shrimping in the lakes and rivers of South Louisiana. After the passing of his wife Maureen in January 2004, Pat decided to return to Baton Rouge in order to spend his remaining years surrounded by friends and family. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at Sunrise Assisted Living at Siegen and Hospice in His Care for the wonderful care Pat received in his later years. Visiting at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Old Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, La on Wednesday August 8, 2012 from 10:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am conducted by the Rev. Frank Uter. Graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 11316 River Road, St.Rose, La at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Brothers of the Sacred Heart Foundation Retirement Fund, 4600 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122 Resthaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
