Frances Roberts Buckels, age 91, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA for 64 years, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Maison De Fleur.
She was born on November 13, 1925 in Sicily Island, LA to Jeff and Emma Roberts. Frances was a life time member of Florida Boulevard Baptist Church. She retired from the East Baton Rouge School Board and was a 40 plus year Avon Sales Representative.
Frances is survived by her two sons, Michael R. Buckels and wife Mary and Kevin L. Buckels and wife Beverly, of Baton Rouge, LA; five granddaughters, Tammy Wheat and husband Heath of Walker, LA, Angela Denham and husband Eddie of Gonzales, LA, Tara Zeller and husband Sterling of Walker, LA, Kelli J. LoBello and husband Michal of Darrow, LA, and Ashli E. Morales and husband Chris of Prairieville, LA; three great-granddaughters, Madison Meshea Zeller, Lauren Paige Wheat, and Ava Claire LoBello; one great-granddaughter due in July; six great-grandsons, John Presley Denham, Gracin Louis Denham, Gabriel Lee Denham, Luke Shane Zeller, Logan Scott Morales, and Austin Michael Morales; one sister, Jean Seal of Sicily Island, LA; her sister-in-law, Udolie Williamson of Denham Springs, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wilmer M. Buckels; her parents, Jeff and Emma Roberts; a great-grandson, Ashton Lee Buckels; three sisters, Dessie Arnold, Lorene Brooks, and Edith Walker; four brothers, Ernest, Roy, Jeff W., and Howard (Buddy) Roberts.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, June 16, 2017, from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 12:00pm until religious services at 1:00pm conducted by, Rev. Mike Tippit. Interment will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be Darryl Seal, Jeffrey Roberts, Sterling Zeller, Heath Wheat, Eddie Denham, Michal LoBello, Chris Morales, and Presley Denham. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Roberts, Patrick Smith, Reggie Walker, and her great-grandsons.
