A retired national maintenance employee with Turner Industries and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 11:40 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 74, a U.S. Army Reserve veteran and a native of New Orleans. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, June 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road, on Thursday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. David Allen. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife, Joan B. McCormick; stepmother, Mary Alice McCormick; a son, Larry McCormick; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy Morvant, and Lisa and Craig Conley; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Steve Bryan; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Billy and Cheryl McCormick, Wiley and Sharell McCormick, Tommy and Janice McCormick, and Keith McCormick; three granddaughters, Laci Martin and husband Coy, Sonni McCormick and Chandler Morvant; and two great-grandchildren, Grace Martin and Cy Martin. He was preceded in death by his father, Emile H. McCormick; mother and stepfather, Roberta and Norman Bollin; and a brother, Jerry McCormick. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church and Millwright Local 720.
