Floyd Cox, Jr.

Floyd L. Cox, Jr., a native of Baton Rouge died peacefully at the Carpenter House of St. Josephs Hospice on November 9, 2014 from Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born January 13, 1941, graduated from University High School in 1958, and graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelors degree in Insurance and Real Estate. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and spent many years in the insurance business and retired as an Auditor with the State of Louisiana. He was an active and loyal member of Parkview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Hudson Cox his children, Julie Jim Stephens, Mary Michael Miller, and Floyd Buddy Cox, III step children, Trudy Sutherland, Holly Patrick Bateman, and Justin Kate Smith siblings, Jena Cox Rodney Daniels, Layton Sharon Cox, Myra Cox George Florentine motherinlaw, Katherine Hudson ten grandchildren three great grandchildren seven nephews and one niece. He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Leo Cox, Sr. and Donice Ricks Cox.

Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Visiting hours will resume Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 9:00am until service time. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from the chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment and graveside services will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
